WOJO Nairobi Partners with Parkinson Group Kenya to Shine a Light on Parkinson’s Disease

April 17, 2025

Every April 11th, the world comes together to mark World Parkinson’s Day—a day dedicated to raising awareness, sparking important conversations, and standing in solidarity with those affected by Parkinson’s disease. This year, WOJO Nairobi was honored to play a meaningful role in that global movement.

A Powerful Partnership for Awareness

In partnership with Parkinson Group Kenya, WOJO Nairobi joined the campaign to highlight the realities of Parkinson’s and advocate for increased support and understanding. Together, we aimed to not only raise awareness but also create a moment of reflection and recognition for the Parkinson’s community in Kenya and beyond.

Lighting Up the Skyline in Solidarity

As part of this year’s awareness initiative, the Old Mutual Building, one of Nairobi’s most iconic landmarks, was illuminated in blue—the global color for Parkinson’s awareness. This symbolic gesture served as a beacon of hope, shining a light on the importance of continued education, advocacy, and research around the disease.

Thanks to WOJO’s prime location in Upper Hill, our space became the official viewing point for the illumination. Members of Parkinson Group Kenya and supporters gathered at WOJO Nairobi to witness this powerful moment together—sharing stories, learning, and building community.

Our Space, Your Cause

At WOJO Nairobi, we believe that workspaces can be more than just places to work—they can be platforms for purpose. By opening our doors for this campaign, we reinforced our commitment to supporting causes that matter and creating spaces that inspire connection, empathy, and positive change.

A Moment to Remember

As we reflect on this partnership and the impact of World Parkinson’s Day, we’re reminded of the power of coming together for a cause. WOJO Nairobi is proud to have contributed to this important awareness effort—and we look forward to continuing to support initiatives that bring people and purpose together.
